We teach and instruct a variety of courses at all levels. We pride ourselves in offering courses with a high standard and low ratios. Course costs are based on our guiding day rates and correspond to the number of people in the group, so round up some friends and make it happen!
Intro to ski touring or split boarding
This course is designed to give a thorough and enjoyable introduction to Ski-Touring or Split boarding. The course sets you up for new opportunities involving more adventurous skiing through inspiring and diverse terrain. We give you the perfect introduction to the use of the ski touring equipment, ski touring techniques and skills as well as an introduction to avalanche terrain and assessment. Over two days we provide you with both theoretical and practical knowledge on how to become a more independent ski-touring partner.

We recommend our guests to build on this course with our Avalanche Safety Training Level 1.

Glacier Travel and Crevasse Rescue
This comprehensive glacial travel and crevasse rescue course for backcountry skiers and split-boarders feature the latest techniques for efficient travel and effective, light and fast crevasse rescue systems. In order to be self-sufficient, backcountry skiers and alpine climbers learn the three all-important components: rope ascension, crevasse rescue and glacier travel. This course presents systems that focus on safety, lightness and ease of use.
Intro to Ski Mountaineering
Looking to expand your terrain horizons? We have designed this course with experience, adventure, and hands-on training as priorities. The terrain in the White Pass is the perfect match for this course allowing quick and easy access to steep terrain and technical ski descents. We have endless amounts of steep skiing objectives from couloirs to big faces. Our ACMG guides/instructors will take you on amazing ski lines while instructing/coaching you on technique and technical skills along the way. This course will surely change the way you look at skiing and improve your safety while travelling in steep big mountain terrain. There is no better way to enter the world of ski mountaineering!
Expedition Skills
Thinking about attempting a multi-day ski traverse or striking a ski-mountaineering base camp?  This course goes over the essentials for successful backcountry ski expeditions.  From pre-trip considerations including objective selection, route planning, meal planning and equipment needs to field skills including winter camping, weather forecasting, and without navigation.  This program prepares you to venture into the unknown.
Cancelation Policy
Course Fees are refundable up to 14 days prior to course start. The Sharp End reserves the right to cancel a course or trip due if the number of registrations does not reach the minimum number of students required, or other factors beyond our control. In this case, you will have the option of receiving a refund or rescheduling for a later date. The Sharp End is not responsible for additional expenses incurred including non-refundable airline tickets, equipment, lodging and other travel related expenses. Due to the above policies, we recommend that you purchase travel insurance from a travel agent.
Release of Liability
Each student is required to complete a release of liability form prior to participating in any classroom or field session.
Weather Policy
Once a trip begins, if the activities are cut short due to weather or avalanche conditions, there is no refund available.
